THE governments of canada and quEbec provide the Municipality of Chelsea WITH A FIRST PAYMENTOF $618,583 FROM THE TRANSFER OF A PORTION OF THE FEDERAL GAS TAX REVENUES AND THE GOVERNMENT OF qUEBEC’S CONTRIBUTION

Chelsea, March 9, 2009 – The Member of Parliament for Pontiac and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, on behalf of Canada’s Transport and Infrastructure Minister, John Baird, along with the MNA of Gatineau and Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier, Stéphanie Vallée, on behalf of the Deputy Premier and Minister of Municipal Affairs, Regions and Land Occupancy, Nathalie Normandeau, are pleased to announce that the Municipality of Chelsea will receive $618,583 under the federal-provincial agreement on the transfer of a portion of federal gasoline tax revenues and the Government of Quebec’s contribution. This is the first payment to Chelsea, which will receive a total of $1,030,971 by the end of 2009 for important infrastructure projects.
